We can all sit and pretend that we "only go to classy bars and drink the best wines", but who doesn't love a night on the tiles drinking cocktails and having a fun time with friends? I know as a food blogger I can come across as only enjoying high-quality food and stunning drinks, but I too love a cheeky night out and Revolution America Square certainly provides that.
Situated in the City of London, there's no denying that the banker-wanker crowd certainly appear at Revolution America Square. The bar is set beneath the arches of Fenchurch Street Station (oooh fancy), and mixes 'opulent Manhattan design with a twist of Soviet spirit'. The space is separated between two arches with one hinting back to the speakeasy, prohibition and moonshine days of the Deep South, whilst the other looks to stunning white marble details and a Vodka Studio from premium Tsarist dining.
If you're still not convinced that Revolution America Square is worth a peek, then read the rest of my review to learn more.
Where
Revolution America Square, Tower Hill
When
8pm - late
Highlights
- Making our own cocktails! We were treated to each go behind the bar and make our own cocktails from the menu. I chose a cream topped, jammy dodger sided vodka and strawberry sensation - basically an afternoon tea on steroids.
- Food wise the small pizza with red onion and tomato was good, as was the sweet potato wedges, sweet potato fries, mac and cheese and even the mini burgers in our crate.
- I also really liked the cheese bites with fresh chilli. They had crunch and softness, richness and spiciness all in one bite.
- The table service throughout, despite always having different waitresses, was good. Polite, friendly and approachable the staff had clearly had good training.
Lowlights
- The Wotsits in our sharing crate. These I felt were totally pointless and they tasted stale. Not ideal considering the rest of the food was good.
- Some of the other guests in the bar were a little too friendly, but hey what can you do? Until social norms of men constantly approaching women change this will be a constant.
Revolution is worth the visit for a well-priced and fun night out. The bar was pretty much dead when we left at just before 12 which was a shame, but this is clearly a pit-stop on the way to a night club. Revolution have locations across the country so check out their website for more information.
Disclaimer: Thank-you to Revolution's marketing team for having my four friends and I. All opinions and images are my own.
