MEETUP: Zomato MeetUp at Ziferblat, Shoreditch

If you haven't heard of Ziferblat in Shoreditch then you either live outside the capital, or you live under a rock. This quirky cafe come living room has a truly unique concept: you do not pay for anything except the time you spend there, Specifically you pay 5p a minute, or £3 an hour for the pleasure of using the Ziferblat space, reading their books, playing their boardgames, unlimited tea and coffee, biscuits, toast and cereal. As a plus you have full access to a kitchen where you can just walk in, grab whatever's in the fridge, microwave home-cooked food, consume it all and, sadly, wash up after. Hey don't bite the hand that feeds you!

Last week myself and a bunch of food bloggers attended the #ZomatoMeetUp at Ziferblat. As my second meetup with Zomato I knew what to expect; amazing food, great company and a fun night. Although two of those things are correct, one is not. On this occasion each blogger brought along a dish or two for the whole table to enjoy. Like a pot-luck session on steroids. In the room we had some of the best bloggers from London eating each other's food, chatting over tea and best of all exchanging #bloggerproblems. We all love a moan eh?

In attendance was Annie from Annie Thing For Food; Federica from Edgware via Bank, of course May from Red Velvet London, Naomi from Make Bake Travel, Vivian from Vi-Vian who I met at the last meet up, Victoria and Helena from Food Start Up School, and finally Alexandra and Sheepa from Zomato.

Our wonderful host David from Ziferblat kept the tea flowing and the conversation lively. his passion for the cafe/living room was so engaging and he also teaches meditation. Jack of all trades!

We indulged in a huge variety of food from my roasted veggies and cous cous and May's mango, chicken and red pepper vermicelli noodle salad to Annie's White Russian cupcakes and Naomi's zebra cake (like really). And whilst the concept may seen really strange, this mix of dishes and mix of people was actually amazing to be around. I find that the most natural conversations come from a joint-passion for something, and presenting your own dishes rather than the formality of a set dinner really opens up the floodgates for serious chat.

Thank-you so much to Ziferblat and Zomato for having me at the event. I really cannot wait to head back to Ziferblat for tea and cake with May and the girls soon!
